How do I Choose a Window Company?

Inspection ChecklistAsk to meet with an installer from the company before you make a decision. Installers are not focused on selling so they are more likely to give you honest answers about the company and their windows. Remember that an installer may not know the current buzz words and marketing terms for windows but an installer will know what is a good and what is junk.

If a company insists on coming to your home and meeting with you and your spouse, or offers a discount if you buy today RUN FOR THE HILLS! These are hard sell techniques used to pressure couples into buying their product. These salespeople do not have your best interest in mind.

Warranties that seem too good to be true probably are. Lifetime warranties are worthless when a company closes it’s doors. For example, Fine Finish Sash and Door in Orange County California sold lifetime warranties up until they decided to retire. Cry as much as you want but these guys are not coming out of retirement to honor the warranty you paid for.

Low prices are not always a good deal, some companies are desperate for work and will cut corners anywhere they can. Really low prices are often a sign of a failing company soon to go out of business. There goes your warranty. It’s probably a good idea to avoid Home Depot or Lowes, too. They’ve had too many complaints.
