Back In Business: International Window Corp

International Window Corporation

Universal Molding Extrusion Co., also known as Umex, has re-opened International Window Corp after acquiring the assets from bankruptcy court. Former management and employees of the aluminum and vinyl window and door manufacturer have been brought back and International is now taking orders and shipping from their Hayward and South Gate, California locations.

Lori Bargeron, International's sales manager, predicts "a very successful future" for International with Umex in control. Although Umex is new to window manufacturing they already own several successful companies within California.

It is reported that Umex first became interested in International when their parent company, International Architectural Group, filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in May. Umex was interested in International's "aluminum extrusion operations" in Texas. International's assets also included U.S. Aluminum, a commercial windows, curtain wall and storefront products provider.

Bargeron insists that even though International is now under new ownership, they will still service the same areas: Northern and Southern California, Oregon, Hawaii, Arizona and Nevada. They will also offer the same product lines. She also notes that talks for a distributor in New Mexico and Texas are in the works as well as new additions to their already impressive product lines.
