Hurd Windows & Doors Expanding

Hurd Windows & Doors will be expanding its manufacturing and market place stance when they open a new plant in Merrill, Wis. Hurd acquired Superseal Windows & Doors in January and company officials state that the combination of both companies and having a manufacturing facility in Wisconsin will allow Hurd to offer an even greater amount of "premium, high-performance and affordable wood and vinyl products."

Hurd has decided to build the new plant to meet the demand for vinyl windows in the Midwest and Western U.S., as well as the international market. Officials note that the Superseal plant in South Plainfield, N.J. will continue to operate as usual.

This new plant will be an addition to Hurd's already existing manufacturing facility in Merrill, which is currently be updated with “state-of the-art equipment and significant upgrades,” production of vinyl windows is anticipated to begin this fall.

Along with expanding their product lines, Hurd also plans to bring on 50 new employees at first but hopes to triple those numbers once the new factory is fully up and running.
