Durabuilt Raises Money For 'MOvember'

Last month 52 male Durabuilt Windows & Doors employees participated in MOvember. MOvember lasts the whole month of November where men grow out mustaches and raise money, as well as awareness, for mens' health issues, specifially prostate cancer.

The group, which was dubbed "The Durabuilt Dudes," raised $15,000 for the cause and finished 120th out of 300 teams that participated in the effort both nation wide and across Canada.

Harry Sunner, VP for Durabuilt, explains the team's success: "We discussed participating for a couple of years, but we really wanted to make an impact - and for our first year we’re very happy with what we have accomplished. We had 52 participants and exceeded our initial fundraising goal substantially. The response from all of our staff, building partners, dealers and suppliers has been exceptional. We had a Durabuilt Dudes wall in both of the lunch rooms with all the mens' photos displayed for everyone to view and vote for. Each week a new photo was added to the wall. The staff would pay one dollar per vote in an effort to choose the week’s best 'mo,' with those funds also going toward the goal."

The Durabuilt Dudes even brought their fundraising efforts to Canadian Home Builders Association dinner, where the cause was accepted with "overwhelming" support.

Sunner notes that next year The Durabuilt Dudes plan to once again help continue the awareness and fundraising for MOvember.
