Milgard Doors & Windows was started in 1958 by Maurice Milgard and son Gary in Tacoma, Washington as a small glass company and then moved to producing aluminum windows. Ten years later Milgard developed an aluminum frame that was designed for cold weather, replacing the traditional wooden frames.  Once again in 1989 and 1990 Milgard continued progress with their line of vinyl frames and fiberglass windows and doors.
