Restore or Replace?

If you are looking for a way to change the look of your home, the entry door can be a great place to start. The first question is whether your existing door can be re-finished or do you need to replace it. If you are happy with the style of your door you can make it look like new by re-staining or re-painting it. If the door is in good condition, this can be a very cost effective solution. If your door needs more than just a new paint job, it can often be better to replace it with a new one. If there are cracks in the wood, or damage from termites, it can sometimes be expensive to fix and usually doesn’t last more than a couple of years. There are new entry doors to fit just about any budget. The most important thing in deciding what kind of door to use is how much exposure does it get from the sun. If you get a lot of exposure, you should probably use fiberglass or steel. If your door is not exposed, wood doors will give you more options for design and finish.
